What Do You Have?

Will you offer it to the Lord in serving the Common Good?

The Common Good Foundation

Devoted to the conversion of culture through four pillars of participation

Life ~ Family ~ Freedom ~ Solidarity

LIFE

WE believe in the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death. All men and women are created in the Image of God. The Right to Life is the fundamental human right and the foundation of every other right. Every procured abortion is the taking of innocent human life and intrinsically immoral. We will support and advance every legitimate effort to ensure that the dignity of every human person lies at the heart of all law and public policy. Life is not a “single issue” but a framework for economic, political, cultural and social participation.

FAMILY

WE support Marriage as solely between one man and one woman, intended for life, open to life and formative of family. We further support the primacy of the family as the first cell of society, the first church, first school, first hospital, first economy, and the first mediating institution. We also see the family as the first government and that all other government is first at its service. We are working to support any effective and constitutionally sound efforts to encourage, empower, and support all parents in fulfilling their mission and mandate

FREEDOM

WE are committed to a fundamental vision of human freedom that is consistent with classical Christian thought. Freedom has two sides to its reach: a freedom “from” and a freedom “for;” a freedom bounded by truth and possessing a moral constitution. At the very core of our commitment to freedom is our dedication to promoting religious freedom for all men and women, as a fundamental human right, revealed by the Natural Law and protected by the principles of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

SOLIDARITY

WE believe that we are all responsible for one another; we are our brother and sister’s keeper. Created in the Image of God, we are called into relationship. We will never find the fullness of human freedom and flourishing outside of relationship. We are dedicated to an understanding of the Christian mission that requires that we have a “heart” – a core commitment – for the “poor” in all of their expressions. We support our members in their relationships with one another, their participation in society, and in every area of service to the common good.

Projects

Concern for the Common Good lies at the heart of our Christian vision and mission. The Apostle Paul wrote to the early Christians, reminding them “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:4- 7) Common Good Foundation serves its mission through projects which are connected to the four pillars of life, family, freedom and solidarity.
